February 22, 2015

Hello there and WELCOME back to my channel. Since graduation season is coming celebrations and festivities will definitely be the smell of the air. How about an eat all you can for the entire family?

A few weeks ago I was invited to be part of a blogging event for the Food Club Manila. Together with 9 other blogger colleagues, we went on a mini food coma because of the wide selection of food inspired by Eastern to Western cuisine.

How about you check out the video below to learn more!

The Food Club open kitchen restaurant features four major kitchen stations, Asian Kitchen Station, Western Kitchen Station, Cold Kitchen Station and Dessert Kitchen Station.

The western Kitchen Station showcases the finest cuisines of Europe and the Americas. My most Favorite of all is the carving station. I'm a carnivore chic who loves her meat served medium rare. Unfortunately during the time I was there, they don't have it available.

The long array of selections in the Asian Kitchen Station varies from Singaporean, Japanese, Thai, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Malaysian to Filipino Cuisines which come with different action stations - Tempura section, Shabu-shabu station.

There is a separate Chinese Section which features a wide array of authentic Chinese hot food cooked to perfection, a roasting section and dim sum section.

The Dessert Kitchen Station is pure perfection with all the delectable sweets arranged in pure awesomeness. Check out these bonbons! Aren't they tiny balls of ecstasy?

Despite my lack of certification, I consider myself a foodie. Having said that, visiting an open kitchen and seeing how food is deliver from the chef's cutting board to my white plate is such an experience. And of course I want my readers and viewers to share the joy of food coma.. hehe Head on over to my youtube channel to learn more about the giveaway.

All About the DERMA ROLLER

February 4, 2015
If you are reading this post, you are probably suffering from acne. There's no need to be embarrassed. I feel you. I have been there. In fact, I suffered from it for 5 years. And just like you, I have tried everything to cure it but still, it's incurable.

Fortunately, I'm now able to control my acne. I follow a strict diet and skin care regimen (comment below if you wanna see a blog post about this). And although I do get spots once in awhile, the scars left by my previous battle with acne constantly reminds me that it was never like this.

I was left with horrible crater marks and hyper pigmentation along the sides of m cheeks and around my nose.

You wanna see how deep they are.. watch this Halloween Tutorial video. This is a close up of what I looked like before.

3 Months after using the derma roller.

After months of googling and youtubing, I found a video that talks about a device that can help me with this dilemma. It is called a DERMA ROLLER. During that time, it wasn't as easily available here in the Philippines than in the States. I kept waiting and waiting until just a few months ago, I saw a photo on facebook.

A Dermal Roller is a genius invention. It is a simple hand held skin roller device which has surgical steel micro-needles which are able to part the pores of the top layer of the skin without damaging it. It creates micro cuts that will trick the skin to immediately heal which at the same time allows older scars to heal with it as well. The pores of the skin close again after about an hour, but during that period your skin is able to absorb skin creams and lotions much more efficiently.   You can even provide vitamin rich treatment cream to make this process even more effective and do ensure your body gets the nutrition it needs.
The photo below shows a magnified view of the roller. The micro-needles on the derma roller are only 1 millimetre long (there is also stock a 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm device) so all you feel is a tickling sensation when the Derma Roller is used.

This is me with a lil help of a thin layer of foundation. I only need a lil nowadays. All thanks to my dermaroller.

Here is a video on how I use my derma roller:

I hope you give this a try. It has done a huge difference on my face and I hope it will do the same thing for you.

Engagement Photoshoot at BGC

January 27, 2015

Hello everyone! This update has been long overdue. Remember on my facebook I announced that Justin and I will be having our Engagement Photoshoot over at Bonifacio Global City (BGC)? And so we did. We got up so early at around 4 am to prepare for this awesome day. We wanted to catch the golden hours between 6-8am so the light will hit us on all flattering directions. haha And also we wanted to catch the city in a state of solitude while we can freely pose and goof around the restaurants outside. It was easier that way because there are no managers to scold at us.

Here's another candid shot with my angels :D  Do you see how we are so ALONE in this city? walang mananaway!
It's so important to have at least 2 of your friends to accompany you during the photoshoot. By doing so, you will have more than 2 pairs of eyes to check the smallest of the details like your hair in the mouth, lipstick on the teeth, an unzipped pair of pants and more.

The captivating view of the city

Justin being so cheesy during our shoot
One great tip to make each shot more authentic and genuine is to whisper cheesy stuff on your partner and flirt with your eyes.

Having our Engagement Photoshoot at BGC was awesome. It is one of the few places where cameras are truly welcome.. Oh! in case you are wondering, it didn't cost us anything for the photoshoot because the city implements a "camera-friendly" rule as long as you don't bring with you bulky lights and reflectors. A good set of camera and lenses are allowed. Add up to that, some of the guards are friendly and very accommodating too.

(Edited photos will be posted realllllll soooonnnn.....)

Have you tried shooting pictures at BGC? How was your experience? Let me know below...

Til next time,

How to Prepare for Your Engagement Shoot

December 1, 2014

This coming Saturday, Justin and I are gonna have our engagement shoot at BGC. You know what that means? I get to dress up and have fun!!!

I decided to write this post as a way for me to document my preparations and also share with you some tips that can help you on your own engagement shoot.

1. Choose the THEME of our Engagement Shoot. Justin and I wants something really CUTE, QUIRKY, and FUN. And as I do my google research I found out that the best theme for us is to go with a "Korean" inspired shoot. Here is a facebook link to what I am talking about https://www.facebook.com/idowed

They have amazing photos that can helped me plan and prepare for our photoshoot. I also suggest to take screen shots or save some of their photos as inspiration for your photographers and videographers.

2. Choose our Outfit. Now that you have chosen your theme, it's now time to lay out your outfit ideas. Here's a video that can help you plan what you will wear on your photoshoot.

3. Practice Posing with your Man. In this era of the "selfie", you probably already know your best angles. But please have in mind that in this photoshoot you are gonna be working with a partner. You may know how to pose but the fiance might have zero knowledge on his best features. So plan an afternoon where you can go to a room where there are mirrors (I suggest dressing rooms in the mall), and try some of the poses you screenshotted and practice. This will save you so much time during your engagement shoot if you know how to work your body and to work with your partner. For more tips, check out the videos below.

I will be posting a more in depth blog entry about my own Pre-Nup shoot. Please leave suggestions and comments below.

'Til next time.... Lav yah!

Last November 9,2014, my boyfriend decided to pop the question out of nowhere.

I'm SOOOOOO excited for future wedding hauls and moree.. eeehhhhh...

Lay Bare Bloggers' Event

November 11, 2014

A few weeks ago, I was invited to be part of Lay Bare's First Bloggers' Event. It was a jammed packed day filled with fun exciting activities.

Lay Bare is the first ever unwanted hair removal specialist in the Philippines. They provide eyebrow threading and body waxing services using cold sugar wax only. No more strips! No more hot wax! Just plain, comfortable, hair removal at a price you can definitely afford.. ( http://www.lay-bare.com/about-laybare.php )

For a newbie like me, finding the best waxing salon will make such a wonderful first time experience.

Just take a look at the brand partners??? I was like WHOOOAAAA!! SO Cool! Honestly, other than the waxing thing... I'm kinda looking forward to the all women's work out.. hihihi I badly need it 'coz I have been eating crappy weeks before this event...

As you enter Curves, This is how it looks like. I love how it's not intimidating and how it's so inviting.

After our intense 30 minute workout, we were told that we are now ready to head over Fisher Mall for the launching of their Newest Branch there.

Before entering Lay Bare, a huge buffet of sweets will just bring out the inner 'lil girl in you.. Just take a look at how rainbows and unicorns landed on this dessert table?!  FANCY!!!!

It was so beautiful that you wouldn't want to take a small bite... ( I wouldn't want to destroy that yummy piece of art )

After a few welcome remarks from their Marketing Director, Ms. Jaime, I too the challenge of going bare and having that dreaded Brazilian Wax. Waaaaahhhh!!!

I like how the tools or products are neatly laid out on the table. At first, I thought that having Mrs. Smith ( I will refer to my vagaegae as such) waxed would be like a trip to the OBGYNE... where you like lay on a contraption and raise both legs and be forced to endure a hell kinda pain. But here, it wasn't like that! they just bring in simple products and tools such as a damp warm cloth and the sugar that they will use for your waxing session. It's so hygenic because I don't see any sticks. I don't like waxing sticks.. they kinda give me that " Imma stab you NOW" feeling.

In ever room, there are these reminder for each client. It's very educating especially for someone like me.  Seriously, up until this point I didn't now the level of pain I will be going through because of the Brazilian Wax challenge.

This photo was taken shortly after the session. I'm not gonna lie.. IT WAS PAINFUL>>>!!!! REALLY!!! But I guess it is pretty normal for first timers like me. I mean come on... I never had anyone slap Mrs. Smith like that. But hey! Here's what made me endure that session. The pink lady you see on the left side of the photo, made my experience as calming and zen as it could possibly be.. hahhaa.. but really, she made me laugh so hard that I forgot how painful it was. She also promised that the second session will be 90% less painful and I trust her.

Even if there was pain, the results were like.. wooooooaaahahhh!!! This time imagine angels decending down from heaven with all there harps making music in respect for my glorious vagaegae.. haha.. She looks absolutely stunning... and of course I wouldn't take a  before and after shot???  But just trust my words that your Mrs. Smith will look brighter, fairer and smoother.

It's been weeks after my first session and the regrowth of hairs are still minimal. I'm glad  I took that challenge.. Now I can definitely say I AM BIKINI READY... WIT WOOW!
