Bio- Oil Review

August 5, 2015

Being a 27 year old woman, I can now say that my skin has probably been through a lot. From childhood "larong-kalye" scars to my fluctuating weight goals, my skin has experienced it all. Despite of my conscious decision to always take care of my body (my skin especially), there are times when I get scars, hyper pigmentation and stretch marks.

Having said all that, I am totally anxious to find products that will bring that youthful glow back on my skin. I happen to stumble across this miraculous oil called Bio- Oil.

Bio- Oil is a specialist skincare product formulated to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its unique formulation, which contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil is also highly effective for ageing and dehydrated skin.

Bio- Oil has won 72 skincare awards and has become the #1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 11 countries since its global rollout began in 2002.

I have also seen famous YouTubers like ItsJudyTime use it during her pregnancy. Now that was the selling point to me. When real people attest to a product's effectiveness, other real people also patronize.

And to make the long intro short, I gave it a try! AND I'M SO AMAZED! I got so excited to see the results and filmed a video and did this review!

I have butter fingers and am very clumsy. So having the product come in a plastic bottle is so genius. Although it wouldn't huet to have a pump instead of a hole on top.

At price point, Bio-Oil might appear a little expensive for 495Php. But by giving the product a try, the benefits are endless. It does what it says it would do.

The scent is a very clean cottony one.

Because of its unique technology of Purcellin Oil, it immediately sinks into your skin. This allows the product to quickly work its magic.

It is a little pricey based on my standards and I wish it comes with a pump.

Have you tried Bio- Oil? Let me know in the comments below!

Fresh Bridal Makeup

July 18, 2015

Hello friends! Here a fresh simple bridal makeup perfect for a beach or garden celebration.

A lot of times my clients would demand for a simple and fresh makeup. And when they say FRESH, I see coral lips, peachy cheeks, simple eye makeup with long lashes and perfectly groomed brows.

Let's begin this tutorial with a bare clean face. A strict skin care is necessary months before your wedding day. By taking great care of your face, you are ensured to have a smooth clean canvass for your makeup.

Here's a video of my Bridal Skin Care. (NOTE: You don't necessarily have to buy the products mentioned in the video, you just have to find the right products for your skin type.)

A well moisturized face is the foundation for any products you will be applying. It allows your makeup to have a good long lasting hold on skin. I love using this Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Gel. It's a multi- purpose product that can bring back the moisture on your face.

Since you will be wearing this makeup look the whole day, priming the skin is a MUST. This affordable Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer is the bomb! It fills up your wrinkles and diminishes the appearance of large pores. It does the job so well.

This is your day! All eyes will be on you and we have to make sure you'll be sporting a flawless even toned skin. This Kate Powderless Liquid Foundation will give you the right coverage without making your skin cakey. It's light weight formula feels like second skin.

Let's be real. The night before your wedding, you won't be able to have a complete 8-hour sleep and that's what concealers are for! This naturactor concealer will erase dark circles under your beautiful eyes.

If incase, you have gained weight before your wedding day, NO WORRIES! You can slim it down using a contouring cream that registers well on photos! Give this Jazzy Photo ready Foundation a try.

The rest of this tutorial will be on the video below. Make sure to watch til the end so you can see how I did my simple braids too.

Kilay Tutorial

July 6, 2015

Hello Friends! They say that the eyes are the windows to your soul. But no one will see through your soul if bushy unkempt eyebrows block the view. Why don't we try to frame them, shall we?
Check out this post because this will certainly give you a whole new appreciation for your eyebrows. Having said that, this tutorial will help you get that well defined brows in under 2 minutes! Don't believe me? Then let's start!

See the difference? Right Side is well groomed while the left is just pure brow hair.

Step 1: Begin with your natural brows plucked or shaved.

Step 2: Determine how long and pointy you want your eyebrows to be and start drawing that using Nichido Brow Pencil in Chestnut. Tip: Work with a freshly sharpened pencil.

Step 3: Draw 2 parallel lines that follows the hair line of your natural brows. This will be your outline for the shape that you want.

See how the parallel lines tapered as it reached the tail of the brows?
Step 4: Take your Shawill 3 Shade Eyebrow Kit and start with the darkest shade for the tail, medium brown for the center and ash brown for the beginning of the brows.

Tip: When you reach the beginning of the brows, brush up to give it a more natural blurry look.
Step 5: Let's fix all the boo boos with my fave concealer, LA Girl Pro Concealer in Pure Beige. I like this because it has a built in brush which make life more convenient.

And this is the final look! Yey! Perfect brows in 2 minutes! ( It takes practice but once you get the hang of it, you can do this in even less than a minute)

Here's a more in depth video tutorial:

We Tied the Knot

May 6, 2015

Hello friends! Oh my gosh never have I been so excited to write this blog post. A few weeks ago, Justin and I tied the knot! I just can't believe it and even until now the feelings are still so surreal.
Our wedding is something I never thought would come. But with the blessing of God, we were able to go this far.

This new chapter of my life is something I would want to share to the world. So here are some awesome pictures and videos taken during #TheJKLoveStory:

Bridal Bouquet by Melanie Botor / Wedding Dress and Veil by Kris Lumagui
As told in my Wedding Planning Tips Video, we didn't want to spend so much on our wedding. I carefully and meticulously DIYed a whole bunch of stuff and my wedding dress is one of them. This is just a simple white dress I got from Karimadon. It was a steal since I got this on sale for only Php2100. The beading along the neckline are some crafty scrapbook stickers I glued randomly. and the tulle bottom is actually my sister-in-law's veil that I  hand sown.  Let me know down in the comment section if you want me to talk more about the stuff I DIYed on my wedding.

The second veil I got for only Php20 in a thrift store

My handsome groom in his rented coat

The most solemn and sacred part of the day took place at the Manila Philippines Temple. It was a fairly quick ceremony with our closest friends and family. I believe it was just 14 of us and an officiator who facilitated. Unfortunately not all our guests can witness this due to some requirements implemented by the Mormon Church. But that is totally ok  'coz that's what the reception is for right? By the way more photos will be uploaded soon.

Ours was never that magically romanticized fairy tale, but a series of choices we knew would lead as back to each other. My heart is just so overwhelmed and overjoyed  knowing that even someone as crazy and weird as me would find my charming prince.

Stay tuned for more ....
